Wednesday, December 20, 2017 - As we prepare for the Christmas break, I would like to thank you all for a great 1st Semester!  I hope you all have a wonderful break and a very Merry Christmas!

Please note: Your second nine weeks grades will be finalized by January 8, 2018.  I will be grading your projects over my break and I will update RenWeb, as I am able. Patience is appreciated, remember we have a lot to grade! :)

Tuesday, December 19, 2017 - We had a great time at Taco Tuesday!  The Strange Taco was delicious and did a great job serving so many people.  Thank you to everyone who helped make this a special day!

Monday, December 18, 2017 - Complete your Peer/Self Evaluation form tonight.  Also, most students received more than enough orders to complete the Taco Truck Order for Math in class, but if you did not complete it, make sure you do it tonight.  Due to the google form shut down, the instructions for how to see your responses is incorrect...SO, remember Mrs. Grimsley put them in your Writing section of your English OneNote.

Finish any part of your project that you have not completed. You will be turning it all in tomorrow morning!
Yesterday's In Focus email was incorrect regarding our lunch on Tuesday.  Students will need to pay for lunch.
Please bring in your $7.00 for Taco Tuesday lunch.  The Strange Taco will be serving us 2 tacos and chips/cheese dip.  The teachers will be providing drinks for the students.  :)  We look forward to celebrating the end of our unit with you all.

We would like to thank Mr. Chris Collin for coming in this morning and talking with us about starting and owning a business.  He shared many interesting facts with us.  Our students asked some great questions, as well! We appreciate Mr. Collin taking the time to connect with our students.

Friday, December 15, 2017 - Finish any part of your project that you did not complete today in class.  Presentations will take place on Monday.  Also, you will need 5 orders from your menu by Tuesday, December 19.  You may want to go ahead and ask your family/friends to order from you.  The projects are looking great!

Wednesday, December 13, 2017 - Project Day 5 - Today we completed our websites and we started planning the interior of our model trucks.  Some students started making their 3-D models.

Tuesday, December 12, 2017 - Project Day 4 - Today we continued working on our websites.  They are coming along nicely!

Monday, December 11, 2017 -Project Day 3 - Today we created our menus and began our websites.  Students are creating a website which will include a "Home" page which will have the name, logo, and slogan; the "About" page tells the backstory of how their business began; the "Truck" page will include a picture of their final draft, a Paint 3-D model of their truck, and a picture of their 3-D model they will be building;  The final page on the website will be the "Menu" page.  Students will list their menus and make a google form so fellow students can order from them.  We will continue our work on the websites tomorrow.

Friday, December 8, 2017 - Project Day 2: Some students finished the final draft of their food truck today and they look great. Students continued researching permits/licenses today.  In addition, we learned about health codes and other health requirements when owning a food truck/restaurant.  We found some very interesting information!

Thursday, December 7, 2017 Today we kicked off a unique learning experience in 6th grade.  We are beginning a unit on starting a business. It is called
Let's TACO 'bout starting a business.
Project Day 1: Students brainstormed about what is needed to start a business.  We were impressed with their knowledge and thought on this!  They developed a very extensive list.  Students were asked to imagine running their own business, a food truck...a Taco truck to be exact.  They named their businesses, created a logo and slogan and finalized the design of their truck.  Some students began researching information about permits/licenses needed when owning your own business.  Today was a very busy and productive day in 6th grade!  We are looking forward to continuing our project tomorrow.
