Coming up this week... Math Quiz on Thursday. It will cover LCM, Comparing and Ordering Fractions, and Mixed Numbers and Improper Fractions.
I will hold a help session on Thursday morning.  Please email me by 6:00pm on Wednesday, if you would like your child to attend.

Today's assignment:
Complete the Warm-up for 1-22-18 (in Warm-ups)
Watch the video on Compare and Order Fractions (in your Daily Work), then complete the practice.
Read the Mixed Number and Improper Fraction Notes (in your Class Notes) and complete the practice.

Friday, January 19, 2018 - No homework. Bring your earbuds to school on Monday!
If you missed class on Friday, you will need to show me your LCM practice.  You also need to complete the warm-up we completed on Friday.

Thursday, January 18, 2018 - Inclement Weather Day.  Enjoy your day thawing out!
We will go over the concepts from your assignments on Tues./Wed. and check our work on Friday.

Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - Digital Learning Day.  Stay warm and enjoy being at home today!

Today we are going to review Comparing and Ordering Fractions. Please read the following instructions before going to the website.
1. I have assigned a lesson for you on LearnZillion.
  • Please sign in as a guest with your first and last name.  
  • Begin with the Skill Instruction and complete the In-Class practice problems on a new page in your Daily work section of your OneNote.
  • The Additional Practice problems will record your score automatically.  You must complete all questions to get credit.
2. Read the Comparing and Ordering Fractions Notes in your OneNote-Class Notes section.
Then...play the following online games to reinforce the concepts.

4. Ordering fractions practice  - Pay attention to the fraction, as well as,  the fraction pieces!

Tuesday, January 16, 2018 - Complete the LCM practice in your Daily Work section #1-9 odd, #10-20 even, #23-28 all.  Also, watch the Math Antics LCM video to brush up on the concept, if needed. The link is at the top of your LCM notes page.

If you were absent, you will need to complete your Warm-up, read over the LCM notes, and complete the assignment above.

Monday, January 15, 2018 - Martin Luther King, Jr. Day - No School
Coming up...Quiz on Friday.  
It will cover Divisibility rules, Factors, Prime and Composite numbers, Prime Factorization, and GCF-3 methods, and Equivalent Fractions.

There will be a help session on Thursday morning from 7:30-8:00 am.

Friday, January 12, 2018 -  After the quiz, read the LCM notes and complete the practice (#1-6) sent to your Class Notes in your OneNote notebook.

Thursday, January 11, 2018 - Complete the Quiz #7 review.  Remember, the 5 vocabulary terms will be on the quiz. 

Wednesday, January 10, 2018 - Complete the Equivalent Fraction Balloon Practice and define the vocabulary terms (using the glossary in the back of your textbook).  Look in your Class Notes section for the Vocabulary page.  The terms are listed.  I messed up when typing Equivalent Factors.  It should read Equivalent Fractions.  I apologize!  Please correct your page.

Tuesday, January 9, 2018 - Complete the GCF Practice. #1-6 follow method given over each column, #7-9 you may choose your method.

If you missed class today, I put a copy of my completed notes in the content library.  Please go read and copy them into your notebook.


Monday, January 8, 2018 -  No assignment.

If you missed class today, you need to complete 1-8-18 warm-up #1 only (move from your Daily Work to your Warm-ups).  We took a short quiz on the Divisibility Rules.  You will need to take this when you return to class.  You also will need to copy work from a friend on the Review of Factors, Prime and Composite numbers, etc...  We finished class by working on the Divisibility Practice (Daily Work).
